Ajith,Thala,Ultimate star,Ultimate,blog,asal,50th film
Saran’s ‘Asal’ is reaching its deadline and Ajith is very much on his toes to finish this much-awaited movie.

But that doesn’t stop the grapevine buzzing about the actor’s next projects. It is said that Kalaipuli S. Thanu has signed Ajith for his yet-to-be-titled production. At present, we have the producer’s ‘Kanthaswamy’, the year’s most eagerly waited movie that is going to hit the theatres this week. So we wonder what the producer has for Ajith.

Another news that is making its round is that Ajith has been offered a magnum opus by Aascar Ravichandran. As of now nothing has been confirmed, but it is said that such a project is likely to come up.

Let’s play the waiting game!

Ajith,Ajith kumar,thala,asal,ultimate star,thalaivan

Magadheera, the Telugu film starring Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja is declared a super hit and is creating waves in Andhra Pradesh. This mega budget film directed by S.S. Rajamouli has broken all records in terms of collections and is the latest toast of Telugu Desam. Magadheera, a period historical film and also a contemporary one, in parts, is being acclaimed by one and all and there was also a report which stated that super star Rajnikanth, a close friend of Chiranjeevi saw the film and congratulated Ram Teja.

Now when a film has such impressive credentials it is only natural that there are many takers vying to buy its remake rights. It was stated that amidst tough competition, Kalaipuli S Thanu has bought the remake rights and Ajith is being approached to do the lead role. Confirmation is yet to come from Ajith’s side. If the answer is favorable, it could even be Ultimate Star’s fiftieth film.

Shahrukh Khan in Asal?

ajith,asal,ultimate star,thala,sharukh

Can you imagine the Hindi Don standing along our stylish and suave ‘Billa’ for a scene onscreen? Sounds like a dream for stylistas, isn’t it? Shahrukh standing beside a smart, cigar smoking Ajith could soon be a reality, with the Don-star being approached to do a cameo in the Ultimate Star’s next flick, ‘Asal’.

This is seen by payback as many film buffs, who remember Ajith agreeing to do a small role in Asoka, as Shahrukh’s brother. For SRK, it is could just be returning a favour, apart from returning on the Tamil screen after starring in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Hey Ram’!

While Shahrukh has been approached to do a special appearance, confirmation from his side has been awaited. ‘Asal’ has Ajith in the lead, while Sameera Reddy and Bhavana have been chosen to play heroines. The movie is being directed by Saran, while Sivaji Films is producing it. Shooting for the film is well on the roll, and Bharadwaj will score the music for it.

Ajith's Asal in Russia

Ajith dons totally a striking look - with stylish beard, unlit cigar and black glasses. The ‘Asal’ look is grabbing attention and Ajith is carrying a never-before look. He will share chemistry with Bollywood hottie Sameera Reddy and Kerala ponnu Bhavana. Bannered under Sivaji Productions, the movie is produced by Prabhu and directed by Saran. Expectations are running high amidst Ajith’s followers and as ‘Modhi Vilaiyadu’ is generating good response, Saran is pinning on this one.

But did you know that this is the first Tamil movie that will be stepping onto Russian lands? Yes, ‘Asal’ is one of the first South Indian films which are going to be screened in Russia.

Recently, Russian Union of Cinematography and Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Chennai had entered into an agreement. It was formed in a way to promote South Indian Cinema and its films. Besides ‘Asal’, many other popular Tamil movies are said to be dubbed in Russian language. The list includes hits films like Kamal Haasan’s ‘Anbe Sivam’ and ‘Dasavatharam’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Chandramukhi’, among others.

Truly an achievement for South Cinema!

Asal

Director Saran spills the beans about his current project with Ultimate Star, Ajith. The film, produced by Sivaji Films, is slated to begin shoot from May 4.

"The story of ‘Asal’ has been a germ of an idea in me for over a few years now. When I told it to Ajith, he said he really liked it. And we hadn't decided on a title then. And Ajith immediately asked me, what is the word for The Original in Tamil? I said ‘Asal’, and immediately knew I got my movie's title," chuckles the director, who is yet to finalise two heroines for the film.

Speaking about the film's storyline, he says it is tad complicated. "One of the strong themes that the film rests on is going against anybody who cheats someone who believes them. In this film, Ajith will openly vent his anger out on such people. But the film is not just another revenge tale," he adds.

Plans are on to shoot the film in Tokyo and Turkey, and Saran admits that Ajith is special to him. "I've worked with many heroes, but I must admit that Ajith is special to me. He was completely sick, immobile, and admitted in a hospital a few years ago, and I went to meet him. I was shocked to see he could not even move his head, while the rest of his body remained numb to him. He saw me and said, 'Keep an action story ready for me. I'll be back in two months.' You won't believe that he was back in two months, and the film we did was 'Amarkalam'. Ajith is truly special and Asal."
