Vikram Kumar Clarifies About "24"
Published in Times Of India daily paper dated Nov 09, 2009

Director Vikram K Kumar’s phone hasn’t stopped ringing the past two days. Many well-wishers and friends, press persons included, have been calling him to find the answer to the ‘ultimate’ question — is Ajith replacing Vikram in his next film, 24?
“This is news to me,” says the director, “I have been getting calls from people, asking me if I have roped in Ajith instead of Vikram. I have no idea from where these rumours originate. There’s no ounce of truth in it. I’m going ahead with Vikram, and if all goes well, 24 will go on floors on December 2.”
But, has he approached Ajith for any of his other films? “I don’t know Ajith personally and I haven’t approached him yet. But, he’s one of those actors whom I’m in awe of. I would definitely want to work with him. After I finish 24, I will meet him with a script and hopefully, the both of us will work together…” he signs off.

Ajith bagged what Vikram missed?
It was announced that ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ fame Vikram K Kumar will be working with Vikram in ‘24’. Suddenly the rumour mills churn it that even before the film could start, the director and the actor got to the wrong end of the stick. So, Vikram has left to Ladakh and is shooting for Selvaraghavan’s untitled project.
What is more? The one who is affected because of this issue is the producer Mohan Natrajan. Gossip mongers added that while the producer was stuck between the hero and the director, the man who came to his mind like a knight in shining armour is our “Thala” Ajith.
Well, all know that the producer had already worked with Ajith in ‘Aazhwar’. And it’s learnt that the actor had promised the producer to do another film in future as ‘Aazhwar’ was an average grosser. This was like an energy drink to producer Mohan Natrajan who was in a big misery. And on top of that, reports said that the producer immediately made call to Ajith and asked for his call-sheet. Thank God, Ajith readily accepted the offer and thus Vikram K Kumar will be directing our Ultimate star soon.
Ajith’s eyes will speak in ‘Asal’!
Our Thala is a man of few words in his real life. We were seeing him delivering punch dialogues and speaking lengthy conversations in his movies, but this time he will be almost mum!
Sources close to Ajith’s upcoming project ‘Asal’ say that the actor will have too less to talk. In fact one can jot down his dialogues in the whole film within two papers.
Yup, director Saran is a person who normally thinks different. He has used the real Ajith in 'Asal' and gave the work to his facial expressions, instead. The director has made Ajith to put across his emotions through his sharp eyes.
Apart from the fact that Ajith is man with a lot of hard work, he is one who can magnetize his fans with his eyes.
Ajith silenced
Director Saran, known for making films with a difference, has tried something new in the Ajith starer Asal. Sources in Kollywood say that Ajith’s dialogues in the film are not more than two pages. No, this does not mean that his role is cut short, but the actor will convey the emotions mostly through his eyes and facial expressions. This has indeed created a huge expectation among Ajith’s fans.
Asal has a strong star cast including Prabhu, Suresh, Suhasini, Sameera Reddy and Bhavana. The film is slated for Pongal release.

Sameera Speaks About Asal And Ajith
Published in Times Of India daily paper dated Nov 08, 2009
‘I WANT MORE FEMALE FANS THAN GUYS’

It’s not often that you come across a star like Sameera Reddy confessing that she’s impressed about something. And so, when she does, you know it is special.
Says the star, who is in the city shooting for Ajith’s Asal, “I did my first Tamil film Vaaranam Aayiram (VA) with Suriya and I found him really cool. But then, I thought Suriya was a one off case. Now, when I find Ajith to be relaxed, humble and easy to work with as well, I’m thinking, ‘Wow, is this the way the whole Tamil film industry is?’ I’m highly impressed with the industry here.”
That feeling, it seems, is mutual, given the impression the crew of Asal have about her. So, it comes as no surprise when the actress says, “I have to say that it has been a wonderful experience working in Asal, which is being directed by Saran and produced by G Prabhu. I think people in this unit work hard not because they are asked to, but because they want to.”
ON THE FILM’S STORY AND HER ROLE IN IT...
It’s very hard to get the lady to talk about Asal’s story. Choosing her words carefully, she says, “I play a cultural attache in the embassy in France. I play a new age woman, who is very stylish, but is still traditional at heart. My look in the film is French and I speak French. I’m the connection between the hero and what his mission is.”
ON AJITH...
It’s just the storyline that she won’t disclose. However, when it comes to talking about her costars, the actress is more forthcoming. Says she, “There is something special about Ajith. Even if he is not in a scene, he is so worried about the safety of the unit and his co-stars. I remember, in France, he’d keep telling me to put on my seat belt. He didn’t need to be there
even for the stunts that I did in Chennai. But he would stand there and make sure that everything went right. That’s one reason why I respect him a lot.”
ON THE FUN SHE HAD SHOOTING FOR THE FILM...
Commenting on the other members of the crew, she says, “Suresh and Sampath are two people with whom I’ve become good friends.” Narrating a funny incident, she says, “There’s a chase sequence that takes place in the French city of Leon. We were running through crowded streets with Suresh in a police outfit. The camera was camouflaged. So, people thought that a real chase was taking place. As I was running, I noticed an excited look on people’s faces. People everywhere were enamoured with the way we shot.”
ON VAARANAM AAYIRAM’S SUCCESS...
The lady says she’s become a proper Chennaiite and that she loves the city. “Chennai has a relaxing pace, while Mumbai has a hectic lifestyle. Between the two, I have the best of both worlds. I got to know Chennai better when I was working in Vaaranam Aayiram. I’m so proud of VA and the way Gautham presented me in it. I think Gautham got who I was on a level that most directors didn’t. I’ll tell you what the most important thing for me is. It is to have more female fans than guys. To have the ladies of the house love me is what thrills me. And Vaaranam Aayiram did just that. When I met Prabhu sir’s family for Asal, and when the ladies of his house said they really liked me in VA, I was beaming. After VA, I’m extremely careful when it comes to picking my roles in Tamil cinema. I believe I owe that much to my Tamil audience who have given me so much love after VA.”

Asal is in post-production!

Our Handsome looking villain-cum-hero is fully focused in finishing his landmark project very soon! The team of ‘Asal’ is back from Paris just recently, and we hear that 80% of the film’s shoot is over as of now. The remaining part will be of a fight sequence and two more songs. But then the team is not willing to waste any time...
What we here from the close circle is that, as the makers are keen to release the film for Pongal, they have started the post-production of ‘Asal’ simultaneously.
Starring Sameera Reddy and Bhavana in the female lead, ‘Asal’ has Ajith doing double role, one as an upright cop and the other as his look-alike is an unscrupulous fraud.
Sources further add that the audio release will be in the month of December.
Then this will be a ‘Asal’ Pongal...

Sampath and Suresh to clash with ‘Asal’ Ajith
Suresh, the handsome hero of 80s, and Sampath one of the smart baddies of the industry are ready to rub shoulders with our ‘Asal’ hero Ajith Kumar.
As of now Ultimate Star is fighting it out with Sampath in Paris for the last two weeks.
When asked about ‘Asal’ shoot Sampath said, “Ajith sir is the coolest star I have ever met. He taught me a few things during the shoot of ‘Asal’. I had earlier worked with him in ‘Tirupathi’, but did not have so many scenes together, this time I’m happy and lucky. Everything is shaping up well.”
Birdies say that the action scenes and arguments between the hero and the bad guys are shot with the touch of Hollywood style. Suresh will sport a bald look for this big budget action film produced by Prabhu and Ramkumar for Sivaji Productions.
This Saran’s film has Sameera Reddy and Bhavana to play the female leads.

Ram Charan Teja pitted against Ajith & Vijay
The runaway Telugu hit, Magadheera will not be remade in Tamil. As if to put an end to the speculations of a possible remake, an announcement about the release of the movie’s dubbed version in Tamil has been made recently. Accordingly Magadheera will be dubbed in Tamil and released for Pongal 2010. Pongal will also see Vijay’s Vettaikaran and Ajith’s Asal pitted against each other.
Earlier it was rumored that Magadheera would be made in Tamil with big names being associated with it.

Venkat Prabhu waiting for Ajith’s call
It is well known in the film circles that Venkat Prabhu shares a good rapport with Ajith. There was a buzz that Ajith’s 50th film would be directed by Venkat Prabhu. But with days passing by there is still no news from either the director or the actor.
In a recent interview to a Tamil magazine, Venkat Prabhu was quizzed about his venture with Ajith and he had responded that the star had once told him that they would work together in his 50th film. The director added that nothing materialized after that chance meeting and he is waiting for a call from Ajith. He jocularly remarked that should Ajith give him a call this moment, he was ready to leave things as it is and begin the project with the Ultimate Star!

‘Asal’ Sameera from Paris
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to tan yourself under the shimmering sun on the streets of Paris and find out quaint little places in the city? Holidaying in this city situated on the river Seine, in northern France is a great delight.
Our ‘Asal’ girl Sameera Reddy is enjoying her days in Paris. But no! The girl is not in her holiday trip but is busy with her shooting; nevertheless she is using every free moment to explore the beauty around her.
This is not the first time she is visiting Paris but, each time the girl discovers something new! This time she is exploring the city with the team of ‘Asal’.
Sameera says, “Paris is the most romantic city. They are a delight to behold and truly define creativity. You can spend hours sitting in the open street cafes. The Eiffel tower at night is a sight one shouldn't miss. The people here are humble and nice, always ready to help and are really friendly”
